A garment is only as good as what it is made from. We choose cloth for how it feels in year five, not just on the rail.
Natural fibres, almost always
We work in wool, cotton, linen and silk — fibres that breathe, age gracefully, and can be mended rather than replaced. Where a blend genuinely serves a piece we say so plainly and choose it for how it performs, never to shave a cost.
We avoid virgin synthetics wherever a natural fibre will do the work, which is nearly everywhere.
Sourced with intent
Our wool is mulesing-free and traceable to the farm. Our cotton is long-staple and, increasingly, organic. Our linen is spun from European flax grown without irrigation.
We name our mills because we are proud of them, and because you deserve to know where your clothes come from.
Made to be mended
Real cloth can be cared for. We finish seams to be re-sewn, choose buttons that can be replaced, and send the care notes that keep a piece in wear for a decade. A repair is not a failure — it is the point.
